Old news I never knew:

Good: The Verve are reuniting for new tours and an album! Surprisingly McCabe is involved but Tong is sticking with Albarn. Hopefully the others can drag Ashcroft back to his pre-solo days of Being Any Good.

Bad: The 20th anniversary Sandman series mysteriously isn't happening! I'm gutted and baffled that Gaiman and DC couldn't come to an agreement that would surely make money. Apparently it would have been a six-issue prequel miniseries called Sandman Zero. Instead P. Craig Russell is adapting Dream Hunters. I like Russell but it's a bit superfluous given Amano's astounding illustration of the original. It's a liberty for Vertigo to be wringing every last penny out of Gaiman's work, from yet another version of Neverwhere to Bill Willingham's risible James Bond pastiche with Merv Pumpkinhead, while passing up an opportunity to give us the real thing.

I heard this story in the pub yesterday but it seems to be true: the US distributors of Ian Curtis biopic Control rung up Peter Hook and asked if Joy Division would perform at the premiere. His reply: 'Well, the last I heard, the lead singer was dead but I’ll give them a ring and see if anything has changed'.

Sienna Miller has spilled the magic beans on her swallow tattoo; it's a symbol of her initiation into sinister celebrity society the Primrose Hill gang. Presumably it's not connected to the other Primrose Hill gang, a coterie of ambitious Labour MPs...
